We go into the field, sit on the floor, and hand-feed children who cannot feed themselves. Join us in bringing food, love, and hope to Uganda's most vulnerable families — one child, one meal, one life at a time.
Children Fed & Cared For
Dawacharityfoundation is a faith-inspired, grassroots charity operating in Uganda. We go directly into care homes, sit with disabled and vulnerable children, and personally feed those who cannot feed themselves. We also run community food drives delivering grain, cooking oil, and household essentials to mothers and families living in poverty.
A visual journey through our outreach work with children and families across Uganda.
We started with a simple conviction: that showing up in person — sitting on the floor with a child who has been forgotten — is the most powerful thing a human being can do.
Dawacharityfoundation was born from a deep personal calling to serve Uganda's most vulnerable — disabled children in care homes, mothers without food, and families living with nothing. We believe that geography should never determine a child's worth.
We don't send money and walk away. We show up. We sit on the floor. We hold children, feed them by hand, laugh with them, and make sure they know they are loved. That is the Dawacharityfoundation way.
Every child and family we serve is treated with profound respect and love — never pity.
We are faith-inspired and believe that compassion without action is incomplete. We show up, we do the work.
We work alongside local leaders and families — not above them. Sustainable change is built from within communities.

Dawacharityfoundation donors provided food and other necessities to families in Uganda's underserved communities, ensuring they could enjoy the holiday season with full hearts and full plates. This initiative brought together donors from the diaspora who contributed generously to ensure that families had access to nutritious meals and essential supplies.
Access to food is a fundamental human right. Yet thousands of families across Uganda face severe food shortages daily. Through the generosity of our supporters, we were able to deliver meals and essential household items to over 500 families across three communities.
The initiative included delivery of dry food rations, fresh produce, cooking oil, and hygiene kits. Local volunteers coordinated distribution points and ensured that every family received their share with dignity and respect.
All food packages successfully distributed to 500+ families across three refugee camps.
Goal surpassed! $18,245 raised against a $12,500 target. Extra funds directed to medical supplies.

Culture is powerful. It connects us to our roots and reminds us of our shared humanity. This extraordinary fundraising initiative combined the joy of traditional African dance with the urgent need to address childhood malnutrition in Uganda, Nigeria, and Rwanda.
Over three evenings of stunning cultural performances in Edmonton and Calgary, community members, allies, and supporters came together to celebrate Black heritage while raising critical funds. Local dance troupes performed traditional dances from Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda, Ghana, and other nations.
The funds raised go directly to school feeding programs that provide daily nutritious meals to children who would otherwise go without. When a child is fed, they can learn. When they learn, they can dream. And when they dream, communities transform.
Second cultural dance event planned for March 2025. Expecting 200+ attendees.
$18,000 raised so far. Feeding programs active in 4 schools across Kampala.
Inaugural dance event raises $8,000 in a single evening.
The Black Culture Traditional Entertainment Festival is more than a fundraiser — it's a declaration that community matters, that culture heals, and that joy is itself a form of resistance.
Held annually, this multi-day festival features traditional music, dance, storytelling, cuisine, art exhibitions, and community workshops. It draws hundreds of attendees and raises critical funds for Dawacharityfoundation's work in Uganda.
This year's festival aims to raise $50,000 to fund community infrastructure projects including construction of a community hall in rural Uganda and the establishment of a vocational training center for young women in Nigeria. Every ticket purchased contributes directly to these life-changing projects.
Festival confirmed for July 2025. Vendor registrations open. Expecting record attendance.
$34,000 raised to date. 68% of our goal achieved. Push to the finish line!
